Amsterdam-Lugano Colloquium VII edition

The VII edition of the Amsterdam-Lugano Colloquium on argumentation theory has taken place at the University of Lugano on November 30 and December 1, 2007. The Colloquium is jointly organised by the Institute of linguistic and semiotics (http://www.ils.com.unisi.ch/) of the University of Lugano, leaded by Eddo Rigotti, and the Department of Speech communication, argumentation and rhetoric of the University of Amsterdam, leaded by Frans H. van Eemeren.

This year, particular attention has been devoted to the importance of studying applied argumentation in different domains: from finance, to health communication, to law and political discourse.

Another relevant feature of the 2007-2008 edition has been the presence of numerous PhD students from Lugano and Amsterdam, who showed interesting developments of the research of the two groups.
